Opposite Eddies, you’ll find The Bay Cafe for informal daytime dining and Hele Mill Tea Room is just a few minutes’ walk into the village.

There is a well serviced grocery store in the Hele Bay Garage and Spar Supplies opposite the entrance to Beach Road and the nearest pub serving food is the Hele Bay Pub, on the corner of Beach Road.

There are lots of lovely local independent shops and a Co-Op in Ilfracombe High Street, about 5 minutes drive away, a Lidl in Wilder Road (at the back of the High Street) and a Tesco on the outskirts of Ilfracombe, about a 5-10 minute drive from Eddies.

If you walk into Ilfracombe and are feeling energetic, we recommend taking the coast path up and over Hillsborough (the steps up are along the promenade opposite the house) and down along through the harbour (about three quarters of an hour depending on how long you stop to admire the beautiful views from the top). An easier walk is along the main road and past the rugby club and swimming pool.

If you walk the opposite direction along the coast path, you’ll go past Ilfracombe golf course and the coastguard cottages towards Watermouth Harbour where you’ll find Storm in a Teacup makes a wonderful stop for food and drink.
